A Place for Newt Gingrich Supporters and Volunteers
Newt Gingrich's speech at CPAC was a comprehensive summation of his ideas and solutions for America. I have found myself wondering why the majority of Americans are not running to vote for Gingrich all over this land like South Carolina voters did.
Newt Gingrich's CPAC speech explained in detail the what, when, where, and how, of his leadership path for America. Who would not want a balanced budget? Who would not want a job? Who would not want the economic situation to improve? Who would not want their gas and energy prices to do down? Who would not want a prosperous and strong nation? Who would not want the federal government out of their state, and out of their lives, and on and on it goes. Have any of the other candidates offered such a comprehensive package of solutions? Do any of the other candidates have experience with initiating monumental legislation that has changed the course of America for the better? Have any of the other candidates been instrumental in balancing the US budget four years in a row? From what I have seen and heard the answer is "No."
So what is going on in the minds of Americans? It's all about perception. I am sure you have heard that old saying, "It's all in your head;" well it's true. Your whole world revolves around your personal perception. Everyone's perception contains a belief system that goes hand in hand with their expectations. Any in coming thought or data will be filtered through your perception of the world as you know it. So each individual makes choices as to what they believe is possible and what they perceive is impossible. However, when the impossible becomes possible, often times that is called American ingenuity, and that is what is missing from the belief system of folks that don't "get" Newt.
The answer is simple: If your belief system and expectations are mediocre at best, you are not going to "get" Newt. If you believe the glass is half empty instead of half full, you are not going to "get" Newt. If you perceive that Newt Gingrich's plans for America are unattainable, you are not going to "get" Newt. If you know the price of every thing and the value of nothing, you will not "get" Newt. If you believe that our country has no future, you are not going to "get" Newt. If you would rather be romanced by candidates who make bold promises and vague solutions, you are not going to "get" Newt. If you think it is perfectly alright to elect a candidate that will be doing their on-the-job training while Iran could be aiming their nuclear weapons at us, you are not going to "get" Newt. If you want a "quick fix" to every thing, you are not going to "get" Newt. A "quick fix" was the term President Reagan sometimes used to label the
attitude he faced with his administration.
Newt Gingrich is the only candidate who believes in the explosive potential of the creative American spirit. The people who "get" Newt know he can walk right into the Presidency with out any on-the-job training and start governing America immediately. The people that "get" Newt believe with strong leadership we have an opportunity to drastically change our lives for the better. The people who "get" Newt have caught Newt's vision and have raised their expectations for themselves and for America. They are fearlessly ready to roll up their sleeves and make it happen. The people that "get" Newt are saying "Bring it on, We can do it!" And that is why people who "get" Newt, like the South Carolina voters, are running towards their future fearless and unafraid because they know that a vote for Newt Gingrich is a vote for themselves.
The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open. So can Newt Gingrich change the minds of Americans and elevate expectations for the future? Can Newt Gingrich spark the American spirit to blaze across this land of the free and home of the brave? Are we up to the challenge or have we become a nation of sheep? I believe Newt Gingrich cares deeply about all Americans and will prove that we all do matter, our desires do matter, and our dreams are not dead. I think Newt can paint a bold picture for all Americans to see themselves in a better place a year from now, two years, three years from now, etc. And the best part about that picture is the people that "get" Newt believe it can happen and know that it will with Newt Gingrich as President.

We need a leader that understands that the American people are the source of American Exceptionalism. America is Exceptional because it is the ONLY country that understands that government does not five rights, for then that government would be able to take them away. America is Exceptional because of the understanding that each of _lends_ some of our power to the government so it can KEEP THE PEACE. We have forgotten this ourselves, and are allowing the government to move beyond it's formative limits. We need a leader that will remind us of these facts, and bring us back to America!
Thanks for the editor's letter fodder!
Go Newt!

You ask good questions to which you provide excellent answers. I especially keyed into the question you asked in your third paragraph: "So what is going on in the minds of Americans?" You did a nice job of answering it; however, I would like to answer the opposite question. That would be what is not going on in the minds of Americans and what can we do about it? The answer is politics. Political savvy is not going on in the minds of Americans, at least a substantial number of Americans.
Americans for several years now have been loath to discuss politics with each other. Remember the two things you don't discuss in public? Religion and politics, and apparently many people took that seriously as opposed to the joke it was originally meant to be. We elected officials to make our decisions for us and we went about our lives without care as to how they made those decisions. After time we lost our collective knowledge of politics due to our disassociation. By the time we realized there were problems with our elected officials, another problem was just starting to surface.
That new problem was that too many people, not understanding politics, stopped caring yet they still had the power to vote. If you make an uneducated or uninformed vote, you will vote for whomever promises you the most, regardless of whether or not they can deliver. If you are uninformed you will probably not be able to rationalize the deliverability of the promise. This is the beginning of the entitlement state.
So, what can we do about it? We can educate our friends and encourage them to educate others. We need to not be afraid to discuss politics in public. We should embrace that opportunity because learning is a two way street. Forums like this are a great start but we also need to take it farther.
Is politics enjoyable? To some maybe, I actually enjoy being able to hold my own in a political conversation. But to many folks politics just stink. Can't argue that though because sometimes it does. People need to realize, and we can help them with this, that ALL life revolves around politics whether you want to participate or not. If we don't get involved and make our own political decisions, rest assured that those decisions, our decisions, will be made for us.
We face the most serious question of our lifetime and that is do we want to lose this nation or are we willing to do everything we can to save it (I think we have only one chance). We can choose to let the country go down the drain (re-elect Obama) or we can choose to maintain the status quo by electing Romney, actually he would be slightly better than the status quo.
Alas we can choose to make this nation the leader of the free world again and take our rightful position on the world stage. We can restore our national security and then our economy and that will in turn give us back our freedoms which have been eroding over the years. There is only one person running for president who can pull that off and his name is Newt Gingrich!
Let's not look to the past. Let's look to the future!

This would make an excellent letter to the editor. Newt has pledged his life, fortune and sacred honor in the tradition of the Declaration of Independence. He can campaign with what fits under the seat in front of him, and has. He deserves the support of all of us! Jump In!
If you already have, we all owe you a debt of gratitude, if not more!
