Even though Newt suspends VOTE NEWT in the remaining states! We don't have to be Romneyborgs!

Newt: "I do think people need to draw a distinction from Romney as frontrunner, which he is, and Romney as inevitable which he may not be. And I think it is very dangerous for Governor Romney and his campaign to assume that he's the nominee. It sort of shows no respect for the voters of North Carolina, West Virginia, Indiana, or for that matter today. I mean he's off making his first quote "general election speech" while voters in five states are voting in primaries. I think that's—for a guy who's only half way to the nomination—if you count the number of votes he has—he's about half way to the nomination. I think that's a little presumptuous."

Interviewer, "you think it sends the wrong message to those states?"

Newt: "I think it sends the wrong message to the voters. It's a message that says the voters don't matter. Well, I think voters do matter. We're going to be campaigning all across North Carolina because we believe voters matter. I think it is very important for the voters to be the people who decide, not the News media and not the campaign consultants. Our expectation under any circumstance, we're going to be at every single event we've outlined this week and our expectation is we're going to continue to campaign until Romney gets to 1144 delegates. I have always said, "if he earns 1144, he has earned the nomination. No one has an obligation to give it to him."

Newt: "...look Barack Obama had the skills necessary to become president and he's a disaster. The question is: what are his plans—what are his commitments—what are his values? Does he have a vision that would lead America to a successful future?

"in order to be the nominee, he has to get 1,144 uncontested delegates. He has not done that yet," —Newt Gingrich

Our families deserve more than rhetoric & talking points. America needs Newt in 2012! Even though Newt will suspend his campaign Wednesday, ndiana, North Carolina, West Virginia, Nebraska, Oregon, Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas, California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah can still VOTE 4 Newt the REAL Reagan Conservative.  #Conservatives can beat O with a true conservative at the Tampa Convention. Show #RNC elites they don't pick our nominee. VOTE NEWT in the remaining states!

Gingrich Releases Video Supporting North Carolina Marriage Amendment

Charlotte, NC – Newt Gingrich released a video today in support of Amendment One, a ballot measure which would “provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union” valid in North Carolina.   The video can be viewed here: http://youtu.be/YQHxIWZP3bE

Gingrich says:
Marriage between a man and a woman is at the heart of our civilization. It's a belief that is now under attack, yet it's at the very core of defining who we are. That's why I urge you to vote for the initiative right here in North Carolina. The chance to vote for a referendum to declare clearly that marriage is between a man and a woman. This is part of the same great process this year that's involved with President Obama, and that's involved with the whole danger of what's happening to our basic beliefs. There's an effort by radicals at every level to change who we are, to change what America is and to change for our children into a future that I think will be much worse. This is your chance to turn out and vote and vote for preserving America, and to vote for preserving a very basic institution.

A longer version of the video can be viewed here: http://www.newt.org/2012/04/23/video-newt-supports-marriage-amendme...

Wilmington, DE – Newt 2012 announced today that Bill Sahm, Chair of the Northern New Castle County Region of the Delaware GOP, endorsed Newt Gingrich for President.

“After listening to Newt Gingrich’s positive vision, it’s clear he is leader we need to get our nation back on the right track.  Newt shares our conservative values, he is a courageous defender of religious liberty, and his economic plan is exactly what we need to create jobs and prosperity here in Delaware and across America,” said Bill Sahm.  “Newt’s commitment to listening to the people of Delaware has been evident these past few weeks, and I’m proud to cast my vote for him this Tuesday.

“Bill Sahm is a strong leader for Delaware Republicans and I’m delighted to receive his endorsement,” said Newt Gingrich.  “Bill’s support in the upcoming primary will be crucial in reaching out to citizens across the state and communicating our message of a better future for our children and grandchildren.”   Gingrich will address the Northern New Castle County Region GOP meeting in Wilmington on Monday at 7 pm.

Second Delaware GOP County Chairman Endorses Newt Gingrich for President

Dover, DE – Newt 2012 announced today that Jerry Wood, Chairman of the Sussex County Republican Party is formally endorsing Newt Gingrich.  Wood is the second Delaware GOP County Chairman to announce his support for Gingrich in the past 24 hours.

“Delaware will not be marginalized and will not be taken for granted,” said Wood. “Newt Gingrich is the only candidate who has taken the time to campaign in every part of the First State.  Furthermore, he has persuasively made the case that his detailed plans for jump starting the economy with bold tax reform, returning to a balanced budget, and an energy strategy to return gasoline to $2.50 per gallon are the right direction for America.  This Tuesday, I will proudly vote for Newt Gingrich over Mitt Romney and encourage my fellow Sussex County Republicans to do the same.”

"Jerry is a fierce advocate for his fellow Delawareans and a dedicated Republican activist.  I am proud that he has decided to join our team,” said Newt Gingrich.  “I look forward to working with Jerry to share our positive message of bold, conservative breakthroughs across the state of Delaware ahead of Tuesday’s primary.”

Yesterday, Newt 2012 also announced that Hans Reigle, Chairman of the Kent County Republican Party, was switching his support from Mitt Romney to Newt Gingrich.  Reigle has also served as the Mayor of Wyoming, Delaware and served for over 20 years in the United States Air Force.  Gingrich is campaigning in Delaware this week in advance of the state's April 24th primary.

Romney Delaware Endorser Switches His Support to Gingrich

Dover, DE - Newt 2012 announced today that Hans Reigle, Chairman of the Kent County Republican Party, is switching his support from Mitt Romney to Newt Gingrich.  Reigle has also served as the Mayor of Wyoming, Delaware and over 20 years in the United States Air Force.

"I previously endorsed Governor Romney, but since then Newt is the only candidate who has shown a willingness to meet and talk with Delaware voters for more than hour," said Hans Reigle.  "Over the past few weeks I've listened to Newt discussing his vision for achieving $2.50 gasoline, balancing the budget, and shrinking the size of government and it is exactly the kind of positive agenda we need for Delaware and America.  I'm proud to switch my support to Newt Gingrich and cast my vote for him next Tuesday."

"Hans is a dedicated Republican who understands the importance of local parties.  I'm honored he has decided to join our team," said Newt Gingrich.  "I look forward to working with Hans to share our positive message of job creation and lower gasoline prices across the state of Delaware ahead of Tuesday's primary."

Gingrich is campaigning in Delaware this week in advance of the state's April 24th primary.

Correctional Officers Association of Delaware President Geoff Klopp Endorses Newt Gingrich

Dover, DE – Correctional Officers Association of Delaware (COAD) President Geoff Klopp endorsed Newt Gingrich for president during a joint appearance at the group’s meeting this morning.

“It was refreshing to have Newt appear before COAD and hear the concerns of Delaware’s working families,” said Geoff Klopp.  “He is the only Republican presidential candidate who has taken the time to listen to our union members and he has earned my vote.  I’m proud to endorse Newt Gingrich in the Republican Primary and I encourage every hard-working union member in our state to join me in voting for him next Tuesday.”

“I was delighted to receive Geoff’s endorsement and for the opportunity to talk with COAD’s union members and hear their concerns,” Newt Gingrich.  “I’m committed to meeting with citizens from every background in Delaware and across the country to develop a solutions-oriented agenda that get us back to a full employment economy, an affordable price of gasoline, and a limited government that moves power out of Washington and back to the states.”

Gingrich campaigned in Delaware yesterday and today in advance of the state's April 24th primary.

Gingrich Opposes  Plan to Limit Mortgage Deductions

Lititz, PA – Newt Gingrich released the following statement opposing Governor Romney’s plan to limit home mortgage  tax deductions based on income level and affirming his belief in a tax code that treats every American equally under the law:

“Governor Romney’s proposal to limit certain tax deductions based on income, including the deduction for mortgage interest on second homes, is a surrender to the class warfare rhetoric of the Left.

“Conservatives believe in the classical American definition of fairness – that every American be treated equally under the law.  That principle of equal treatment must apply to Americans of every income level just as it must apply to Americans of every race, color and creed.

“Governor Romney’s tax proposal violates that principle by giving politicians the power to carve out exceptions in the law for people of certain incomes.  Furthermore, it sets the stage for future tax increases, as politicians will continually try to decrease the income threshold where citizens will no longer be able to avail themselves of the deductions."

My proposal for an optional 15% flat tax treats all Americans equally and allows them to either keep the current deductions and all the paperwork or move to a very simple system of equal treatment for all Americans with a one page form."
