SPOKANE HAD UNITY SLATE.  I will update when I have numbers. I am going to State. Took from 7 am  to 11 pm and

many left so platform couldnt be voted on.

I was legislative district 6 floor leader. My newt people all stayed.. We made 3 delegates and 3 alternates.   

Some other leg  districts will also have delegates here so think we will have good numbers.

 However. Santorums went straight to Romney = so wish more conversions but local Santorum leaders pushed Santorum and they ended up with a lot of Santorum Delegates. We need to convince them Newt has conservative values they stated as

 supporters of Santorum and move them along to Newt/

Uhm... I don't know if I could be there for the full time, but MacKenzie & I would consider helping for maybe a day or two.  Is the cost for observers the same as for delegates?  Anyone have any info?  

I think having a good presence there to counterbalance the Paul crowd and the Romney coronation camp would be ideal.  I know there is some radical "strategery" going on to woo the Santorum folks to stay with the Open slate.  Remember what Nancy Reagan said: "Just say NO!".

Are you going to go watch the spectacle in Tacoma at all Eric?

I never heard how last weekend went.  Anybody have any info?

Eric P.  As far as I know we do not yet have someone to run a Newt Table at State.  I'll contact Kristin and try to confirm.  Are you volunteering???  :D

Hello Washington Newties!  With Santorum's withdrawal from the race, some new (and some old) questions are coming up.  The word from Newt's National Campaign Headquarters?  Two words.  UNITY SLATE.  We all want Newt to be the GOP nominee.  And we all want the GOP nominee to defeat Obama.  To that end, we must follow a strategy that supports not only Newt, but also the GOP.  That strategy is the Unity Slate.  Back in the days prior to the Iowa Caucus there were 9 candidates running in this race.  One by one they have dropped out.  Each time a candidate left the field, their supporters looked for, and found, another GOP candidate to support.  The same would have happened if Newt had dropped out.  And I fully believe that the same will happen when Romney concedes defeat.  HOWEVER, the same does NOT apply to Ron Paul.  If, or maybe I should say "when" Ron Paul decides (again) to leave the GOP and run as an Independent many of his followers will do the same.  This means that a Ron Paul delegate becomes an empty seat at the convention.  That is unacceptable.  

The NEWT.ORG web server crashed twice Tuesday due to the crushing amount of traffic (both informational and donations) following Sen. Santorum's announcement.  This is very encouraging!  We can do this folks!  We can help Newt win the nomination and with the addition of Santorum and Romney supporters we can then help Newt win the White House.  So let's stick together and make this happen!

"His success is a testament to his tenacity and the power of conservative principles."  So good.  Quite a contrast to what the Paul campaign put out.  Just another example of why Newt is the guy who can win.

Ditto to what danskine said. As soon as we heard the news I thought about hoe important it will be to show a clear and decisive support for newt. He is not going to back out, but we all need to be proactive supporters to bring the Gingrich campaign the boost it needs at this critical juncture. Yell your friends why you are still supporting the speakers.

I have never used this venue to ask people to donate money but now is a GREAT time to do so.  Even if it's only $10.  The media will quickly get bored with the "Santorum is out" story and will either turn to the "Newt is unifying the conservative vote" story or stick with the "Romney has it won already" story.  A report from the Newt campaign showing that a lot of donations came in immediately following Santorum's announcement will go a long way to determining which one they run with.  Please give what you can at NEWT.ORG   Please DO NOT give to THIS website.  Money given to this website does not go to Newt's campaign.
