The biggest problem in American politics these days is that any person running for office that is perceived as a threat to the entrenched corruption will not get a fair hearing. Since WWII the news media was actively purchased and made over to serve the corruption for business as usual. Deep seated corruption is close to ending freedom as we have always known it and if someone decent get's in office anyway that person stands a good chance of being murdered and for sure will find no cooperation in cleaning up the corruption.
