Newt Gingrich's Solutions

America only works when Americans are working. Newt has a pro-growth strategy similar to the proven policies used when he was Speaker to balance the budget, pay down the debt, and create jobs.
Keeping Americans safe is the most important duty of government. That is why the confusion and incoherence of the Obama Administration’s response to the threats facing America is so troubling. Newt advocates sound policies to keep Americans safe based on timeless American principles.
Today's high gas and energy prices are entirely a function of bad government policies. Newt has an American Energy Plan that would maximize energy production from all sources--oil, natural gas, wind, biofuels, nuclear, clean coal, and more--and would encourage clean energy innovation without discouraging overall energy production.
The big government Obamacare approach does not address the root causes of America's health care crisis. Instead, it creates layers of new taxes, regulations, and bureaucracies that will ultimately make our problems worse, not better. Newt proposes a "Patient Power" plan that will save lives and save money.
If America is going to remain competitive with China and India in the 21st century, then we must commit to improving education, especially in math and science, and moving from a bureaucrat-dominated status quo to an innovative system that emphasizes accountability, transparency, and parental choice.
America must be a nation of laws. Everyone in the United States should be here legally. America also is a land of immigrants, and our lives, economy, and history have been enriched by immigration. There has to be a robust and attractive program of legal immigration. There are major positive economic and social benefits to streamlining and simplifying our convoluted, broken visa process.
The revolutionary idea contained in the Declaration of Independence is that certain fundamental human rights, including the right to life, are gifts from God and cannot be given nor taken away by government. Yet, secular radicals are trying to remove “our Creator” – the source of our rights - from public life. Newt has an aggressive strategy to defend life and religious liberty in America.
The right to bear arms is a political right designed to safeguard freedom so that no government can take away from you the rights which God has given you.
Newt has pledged to issue a series of Executive Orders to create jobs and help undo the damage of the Obama administration on the first day of his administration. To harness the wisdom and knowledge of the American people, Newt is now collecting ideas for executive orders that he would sign on the first day.

Really?

My vote is important to me, and I will not cast for a settlement.

I will vote Newt or let Obama ride.

Why? Because, I will not be a party to the management of the continual decay.

I think stopping all the negative ads towards Romney and focus on Obama and the nations problems, who cares what he says all it shows is that he is worried. Turning your attention to national problems will go much farther than attacking Romney, sinking to his level you will only play his game. the spot light has been on you for years and there is nothing more that Romney can say that hasnt been said......

So good to hear Newt's pro natural gas. I heard Obama has approved spending for development of 10 nuclear power plants...this is one of the many BIG reasons he lost my vote.

How Much Economic Freedom Do We Have in the United States?

Judge Andrew Napolitano

Jan 20, 2012

The root of economic freedom is the recognition of the right to own private property. That includes the right to utilize it unmolested, to dispose of it without anyone's permission and to exclude anyone from it, even the government. Suffice it to say, no American president since the advent of the income tax and the Federal Reserve 100 years ago has fully accepted or meaningfully defended that right. The more the government extracts in taxes and the more it inflates the money supply, the more it rejects and assaults property rights.

Every president in the 20th century, even Ronald Reagan, signed legislation raising income taxes. The theory behind the income tax is that the government's need for cash is so great, it can just take it from your employer after you earn it but before your employer pays you -- before you even see the cash -- and use it as it sees fit. This presumes that the federal government has a greater right to your income than you do. There really can be no rationale for income taxes without that belief.

Do you know anyone outside the government who believes this?

If you believe you have the natural right to own your property and to trade and spend your money as you see fit, then there is only one Republican presidential candidate who agrees with you. That candidate, when asked last week in South Carolina what the rate of income taxes should be, replied: ZERO. One needs to laugh at Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich as they pitifully attempt to defend natural rights and the right to pursue happiness, when they have no respect for the right to own private property.

The absence of economic freedom today is nothing new and didn't come about overnight. It is the culmination of the Progressive Era, which gave us the Federal Reserve and the income tax; the New Deal, which gave us the beginning of entitlements; the Great Society, which enhanced the numbers of people who received entitlements; Ronald Reagan, who bashed entitlements during the six years he was running for president but did nothing to dismantle them; and every president from Dwight Eisenhower to George W. Bush, all of whom just accepted the welfare and warfare state as if the Constitution didn't exist.

Today, we have President Obama, committed to private ownership but government control of the means of production, who wants to enhance the welfare and warfare state by having socialized medicine and perpetual war at the same time

Gerald W. Cook Comment by Gerald W. Cook on January 16, 2012 at 12:39pm

One the main problems is to be fair to all concern without partiality. The solution I suggest is reality simple and I think it will satisfy all.

1. All illegals must register or be deported in order to receive a right to work permit. With this permit, they be will fined $30 per week which be paid soley by them for support of Social Security and Medicare (paid directly into a secure account for these services and cannot be used for any other means). This would raise aproximately $17,160,000,000 a year in revenue.

2. With this workers permit there will be no pathway to citizenship or the right to vote. The illegals must obtain legal  status according to USA regulations and laws by reentering and appling for citzenship after they have worked 5 years under the new working permit and have not volilated any laws otherwise 5 years from their minor offence. Any major will be automatic deportation or imprisonment depending upon the crime committed.

3. The legals will have their rights protected and pathway to citizenship will maintain for all who seek it legally.

I think you are missing an opportunity. You have shown an awareness of the importance of LEADERSHIP key capability for the next POTUS. Newt has a demonstrable advantage over other republican candidates - not to mention obama. The next president, if he is to be successful generating meaningful changes in policy - in particular reform of the entitlement programs - will need to communicate, create vision, educate, create national discussion and create broad support for changes which will require sacrifice and changes in expectations. Newt often invokes Ronald Reagan - and with good cause; Ronald Reagan was the "great communicator". Leadership was how he excelled. Many have good ideas about how to correct course and return America to prosperity - not all recognize that true LEADERSHIP is the critical role the president must demonstrate in order to truly achieve the needed results. I see this as a critical characteristic that Newt could focus on not only to differentiate himself form other Republican candidates - but also right on through as a key difference to Obama for the general election in 2012. Go Newt - hope to see more from you on this critical element of our future!

Romney Establishment RINOs "Crying Foul" as Conservatives Reject Vu...

Add to Technorati Favorites

Silly, Willard! Tricks are for Liberals!! As Romney's Wealthy Elites scream foul for Conservatives accurate attack on Vulture Capitalism, millions flow in to Romney's Hedge Fund Super PAC. Imagine MSNBC, CNN, John Sununu, John McCain, New Hampshire RINOs pick the GOP candidate to oppose Obama? That's what is going on in the inner circle of Media and Corrupt political games. Romney's Restore Our Future, backed by Vulture Capitalist who are throwing money against true conservatives in the name of Moderation and Liberal values.

South Carolina's Governor Nikki Haley and New Jersey Guido Chris Christie, now vying for special favors for their States if Romney and Establishment Republicans return to D.C. It's the same 'ole' thing...Northeastern Elites once again vying for another defeat for the Presidency and with the true mission of taking the U.S. Senate and its chairmanships.

American Solutions are World Solutions. Romney and his groupees never had solutions, never employed solutions, were absent as Obama's socialist policies have ruined the U.S. Economy, National Security and State's Rights.

There are only two viable candidates to return conservatism, values and American Solutions that will enable, empower and encourage small enterprises' return as the locomotive for global prosperity and they are: Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.

Think about it. 75% of conservatives have rejected Romney and the Elite RINOs still insist that the conservatives are wrong and that a Liberal/Republican In Name Only, such as Romney or Huntsman will not turn off Obama voters. Really? So, Romney's RINOs and his vulture capitalist just want to please Obama's voters. This means that the Republican establishment intends on turning its back on its own policies and party...this is a lose, lose, lose choice for Conservatives.

As South Carolina and Florida voters succumb to the intense Vulture Capitalist/Hedge Fund dollars of the Republican Elite, Conservatives should ask themselves, "what again?" These same persons of Romney, McCain and the Northeastern, D.C. elite were wrong in 2008, lost the election and turned against Conservatives. The result Obamanomics, ObamaSecurity and Obamapolies and a weaker U.S. Small businesses and entrepreneurs should shudder when MSNBC, McCain and others once again play into the putrid policies of mediocrity and a renewal of the old guard and dysfunctional elites running our Nation.

Small enterprises deliver in continuous-enterprise-development-zones...check the continuous enterprise zones of these hacks...McCain and Arizona (broken), Sununu and New Hampshire (broken), Haley and South Carolina (broken), Christie and New Jersey (broken)...should Romney's Vultures succeed, conservatives will bolt and reject the two parties, once and for all, and will return the U.S. to the people and the conservative tradition where culture and commerce enable, empower and encourage small enterprise growing from small enterprise in a World secure with strong leadership of a tr

Mr. Crawford.  I am former Navy as well and agree.  Romney is way to soft and the Democrats and left wing media hope that it is Romney as a nominee.  That way they do not have to defend their record of obama care and can say look I Romney and the Republicans are for the rich fat cats such as Bain Capitol.   Newt they are afraid of you.  You will wipe the floor with Obama in a debate.  They are also afraid that you will roll back all their socialist progressive agenda and set them back a decade or so.

Now that I am out of the military, the only way I can defend the Constitution is voting for Newt Gingrich.

Amendment X

How much longer do we have to endure the missing element of Amendment X to the US Constitution? Thus far it has been Mitt Romney over and over again on eliminating Obamacare by an Act of Congress he would sign; and now Rick Santorum chimes in.  Both claim Amendment X is a States Rights amendment which is not entirely true. Amendment XThe powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the…See More
